The ONLINE CLOTHING STORE store will open Sept 4th and close on Sept 30th. There will be a $30 late fee if anyone requests orders outside the online store deadlines. 

Sizers will be available to try on at TMSS at lunch on Thursday, September 12 and Tuesday, September17.

TMSS FALL CAREER FAIR AND OPEN HOUSE

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2024

TMSS students in grades 9-12 will attend a one-hour afternoon session. Each afternoon session will begin with the members of SUTIL providing brief overviews of their post-secondary institutions and then students will tour around to all the booths. Some booths may be situated in the student lounge as well. Most presenters have information, treats and “merch” available for students to take. The evening session is strictly tradeshow fashion (no introductions). We like to offer the evening for families to attend and ask more specific questions.

Our TMSS School Picture day will be held on Wednesday, September 25, with Retakes on October 24.

Running Club with Mr. Kubat meets every Monday and Wednesday morning at the TMSS football field at 8:00am-8:45.  All students grades 6-12 are welcome!  No signup required.

1. Read the NESD Driver Education Handbook 
* It is your responsibility to be prepared for driver education
* Read the Student Responsibilities

2. Turn 15 prior to: the 1st day of class

3. Obtain an SGI Customer Number, as per the NESD Driver Education Handbook

4. Choose your session (see attachment)

5. Registration Forms must be completed online at
https://zestful-destinysdrivingschool.wordpress.com no less than 7 days prior to the 1st class of
the session you are requesting. Paper registrations will not be accepted and late registrations
will be moved to a later session.

6. If these dates do not work for you, refer to the NESD Driver Education Handbook Journeys to
obtain your Class 7 Learner’s Licence. In-class and in-car portion can be taken at a later session.

Policy 114 - School Viability Review

At the June 18, 2024, Regular Board Meeting the North East School Division Board approved the amendments made to Board Policy 114 – School Viability Review.

The Board Policy was substantively updated to reflect current legislation.  In addition, an appendix was created to clearly articulate timelines. The revised policy was publicly posted on June 20, 2024.

Welcome to the start of the 2024-25 school year.   As many families know or may have heard, Transportation Services of the North East School Division has faced some challenging times that have led to temporary cancellations of many bus routes.  We understand how critical reliable transportation is to your daily routines, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Current route cancellations are due to several factors: a shortage of mechanics, receiving replacement parts, a lack of casual bus drivers, and delays in the delivery of new buses, initially expected in May 2024 but now postponed to October. Additionally, seven buses from 2020 or newer are out of service due to warranty work. The school division is actively working with the bus vendor to ensure these buses return to operation as soon as possible.

We are working diligently to get our buses back on the road, utilizing third-party assistance for bus maintenance ensuring our busses meet all safety standards before being put into service. To address staffing shortages, we are increasing our recruitment efforts.  In the meantime, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these challenges.

The safety and well-being of our students remain our top priority, and we are committed to improving our services despite these challenges. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Transportation Services at 306-873-4555 or transportation@nesd.ca.

Under authority of Section 85(1)(i) and Section 122(1) of The Education Act, 1995 the Board of Education made the following motion at their meeting held September 17, 2024:
